More Americans Apply for Unemployment Benefits But Layoffs Still Historically Low There’s been a noticeable uptick in Americans seeking jobless benefits, with applications hitting the highest level in nearly three months. Last week, filings for unemployment benefits jumped to 224,000, marking an increase of 9,000 from the week prior. Despite this rise, the broader context shows that layoffs are still significantly low by historical standards. The less fluctuating four-week average of claims also saw a rise, moving up by 5,250 to reach 207,750. This indicates a slight shift in the job market dynamics, though the overall health of the employment sector remains robust. « Previous Article Next Article » Share This Article Choose Your Platform: Facebook Twitter Google Plus Linkedin Related Posts China's Gold Appetite Returns: New Import Quotas Signal Market Shift READ MORE Record-Breaking July for CME Group: 24.8 Million Contracts Traded Daily READ MORE Base Metal Prices Surge Amid Russian Ban and Supply Worries READ MORE Mortgage Rate Decline Prompts Spike in Refinancing Applications READ MORE BRICS Expansion and De-Dollarization Efforts Challenge US and EU Economic Dominance READ MORE Add a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
